The mind is such an important aspect of our living and being. Before one became saved his mind was of this world or reflected the spirit of this world. People are created with a body, a soul, and a spirit. The spirit is the mind and until we receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; we exercise the mind or the spirit of this world. The body is the house of the soul, which is the will and moral seat of man, while the spirit is the mind of man housed in his body. The mind/spirit of Christ is our great guiding light. His presence in our life gives us the mind of Christ, not the mind or spirit of this world.

Explain: The teachings of I Thessalonians 5:23 in relation to spirit/mind.

When the unregenerate man (the unsaved man) becomes saved and regenerated as a new creature in Christ he receives Jesus Christ into his life. The Spirit of the living God now indwells in him for he has received the mind of Christ. No longer does he have a worldly mind. He has a spiritual mind!

Galatians 4:6God?s Son, His Spirit, is now our mind. The mind of the saved (regenerated man) has the mind of Christ and can now acknowledge the Heavenly Father.

I Corinthians 2:9-16We have the mind (spirit) of Christ.
