Lesson #16 A Bringing Together Again Adam and Eve filed a bill of separation for the whole human race by their sinful disobedience to the Word of God. Ever since then man has been alienated from a loving God. However, God always intended to have fellowship with his creation...man. Sin broke that original fellowship in Eden's garden. But God's mercy and grace has given man a second chance. Reconciliation through the Lord Jesus Christ, man's Savior, is available to all who call upon Him. Focus: Read: Revelation 4:11 Man created for God's pleasure Genesis 1:26-28 Man and woman created in God's image
Man was made for God and by God and for God's pleasure. God was not made by man. God was made for man. God was not made for man's pleasure. Read: Genesis 3:1,4 - 13 Man disobeys and he sins Genesis 3:14 Man loses his paradise and fellowship with God Romans 5:12 All have sinned Isaiah 59:2 Separated from God God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to bring us back to Him. Jesus is man's agent of reconciliation.
Romans 5:6-10 God reconciled man through His Son Colossians 1:20-22 Reconciled unto God God's Son, Jesus Christ, has redeemed us by the blood of His cross. This act enabled the original creator/owner, God the Father, to buy back or to retrieve eternally His possession ... Man. Being reconciled to God by the gospel of His Son we are to be His ambassadors with the ministry and message of reconciliation. Read: II Corinthians 5:17-20 Be ye reconciled unto God Question: For what reason was man created?
Personal Response:
Explain what was the cause of man's lost fellowship with God?
Explain what are the historical and Biblical teachings about reconciliation?
Scripture Assurance: Ephesians 2:13-16 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby.
Scripture Memory: II Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
