Lesson #15 Salvation: Past, Present, and Future Salvation is a one time eternal experience, but ironically an ongoing experience in the sense that God declares to us that we have been saved, are being saved and that one great day, in the future, that salvation in, of and through the Lord Jesus Christ will be completed and perfected. Them we, not only, will possess salvation but it will eternally be our state of being.
The Christian has been redeemed and regenerated (born anew)...saved from the penalty and guilt of sin and now is safe. Focus: Read: Luke 7:47-50 Jesus has power to forgive sins-yours and others Acts 13:37-39 Preached unto you the forgiveness of sins Ephesians 1:7 redemption through His blood Colossians 1:12-14 His power hath delivered I John 2:1-2 Propitiation for our sins. Hebrews 10:12-14 Perfected them that are sanctified (saved). Hebrews 10:17 Sins remembered no more. Question: What of these verses tell about sin, forgiveness and salvation?
Personal Response:
Read: Romans 6:11-14 Sin has no dominion I John 3:5-10 Do not practice sin I John 1:5-10 Confession of sin and cleansing I Thessalonians 5:23 Sanctified and blameless Titus 2:11-12 Live Godly Philippians 2:12-13 Work out your own salvation God is working in you Question: What do these verses relate about our present state of salvation? Personal Response: The Christians salvation will be completed at the Lords return when we shall possess a glorified body that will conform tot he image of Jesus Christ, for we shall all be as He is. Free from all body infirmities and sin. We shall experience the perfection of our eternal salvation in and through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Focus: Read: I Thessalonians 4:13-18 Salvation complete II Corinthians 5:1-8 A heavenly tabernacle Romans 8:18-23 Redemption of our bodies Romans 8:29-30 Glorified I Corinthians 15:49-54 Immortality Ephesians 2:6-7 Heavenly Places II Thessalonians 2:13-14 Thank God for our salvation I John 3:2 Like him Question: what state of experience for the saved, in the future, do these verses proclaim?
Scripture Assurance: I John 3:1-3 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Scripture Memory: Philippians 2:12-13 Wherefore my beloved as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
