Growing in His Knowledge and in His Grace is God?s way for His children. The growth process is from the milk of God?s Word to the meat of God?s Word.
We must eat to grow physically and we need to know how to function in order to live. We must eat spiritually and know spiritually, not only how to live here on earth, but to be prepared for the life hereafter. God wants us to mature as His Children. That growth comes from the Word of God and prayer. Growth from spiritual babyhood to spiritual adulthood is God?s process for His children.
Read: I Peter 1:23-25Being born again?by the Word of God.
We are saved and converted (born again) by the Word of God. That same Word causes us to grow into Christian maturity if we partake of it.
I Peter 2:1-2Desire the pure milk of the Word. The
Word of God causes growth only if we desire to be fed thereby. God wants us to grow in the faith, in out lives, in our service.
Hebrews 5:11-14But meat belongeth to them that are of full
age. We must cut our spiritual gums on the milk of God?s instructive Word before we are able to digest the meat of His profound truths in our life and in our living.
II Peter 3:18But grow in Grace and in knowledge. By all
means grow. It is our duty. Growing brings glory unto Him: the Lord Jesus Christ.
Colossians 3:16Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly.
God?s Word causes the heart to sing, the mind to know, and gives grace to the maturing Christian.
Question: The food we eat is important to our growth. What do the verses just studied have to say about spiritual growth?

Scripture Assurance: I Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
